Sometimes parents just need some time to themselves! Whether you are a stay at home parent who needs a day or two to get some important things done without distractions or you’re a work from home parent who needs a few hours daily without having to get snacks, timeouts or to clean up, day care could be very beneficial for your child too. Daycare can be great socialization for your child, as well as a much needed break for everyone. Daycare is the stepping stone to future education, and Chapter 1 Daycare is prepared to help both you and your child/ren transition easily.

It was previously accredited by Accreditation Of Early Learning & Care Services (A E L C S) but this was eliminated in 2019 by the Provincial Ministry and integrated in Childcare Licensing Regulations. We continue to maintain the standards as they are above and beyond the licensing requirements and focus on outcomes for children, families, staff and community to support children’s optimal early learning and development.

We know feedback is essential for you as the parents. The fact is, we’re there and you’re not, and we understand this is already difficult on you. We strive to provide all the necessary feedback on your child’s growth pertaining to Social, Physical, Intellectual, Cognitive, and Emotional aspects. We have a Daily Activity Report that provides you with a full grasp of your child’s development while within our care at Chapter1 Daycare.

Please contact us prior to registration regarding any applicable fee.

We do our best to be supportive of the working parent and at the same time, operate within the health standard guidelines mandated by Calgary Public Health. If a child is feeling somewhat under the weather but is able to function within the program and is deemed not to have any communicable illness we will allow them to remain. Communicable illnesses, other than colds, require exclusions which are determined by Calgary Public Health. We have a first aid room exclusively for this purpose. Parents have to be notified immediately when such illnesses are discovered and under the Provincial licensing requirement, the parent has to pick-up his or her child within a reasonably quick time.
Yes, it is a mandate that there must be a scheduled rest period for the infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We recognize that some preschool children will not be comfortable about nap time and we are respectful of this. Quiet activities are provided for children who are unable to nap and calming music is played throughout this period of time to help the children relax and feel at ease with the rest period. The scheduled nap time is from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM each day. We do not conduct any tours of the facility during the nap time.
